What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of hands-on medicine combining various types of treatment such as manipulation, massage and visceral techniques as well as a very gentle but profound palpation called cranial osteopathy.
Hands-on palpation (osteopathic touch) is used with precise anatomical knowledge to work towards restoring balance and invoking the body’s natural ability to self-heal.

Osteopathy is a holistic therapy, so osteopaths treat the whole person. This means that if you come to me with, for example, back or knee pain, I will look at the area causing pain but also treat you as an individual and try to rectify the source of the problem rather than the symptom alone.
